YOUR EXPERIENCE
Discover the chocolate-making process from bean to bar inside Guadeloupe’s major chocolate factory and enjoy an hour’s break on one of the archipelago’s most beautiful beaches.
What you’ll Experience on this tour:
- Visit and break at the Cascade aux Écrevisses, located in the UNESCO biosphere reserve (only from the Pointe-à-Pitre cruise terminal).
- Visit to the island’s only chocolate maker.
- Tasting workshop (from bean to chocolate).
- A one-hour beach break on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches.
ITINERARY:
After a comfortable journey in our air-conditioned minibus, you’ll start off at a remarkable natural site: Malendure beach!
Located on the west coast of Guadeloupe, Malendure beach is one of the island’s most popular. Its black volcanic sand contrasts with the turquoise waters and tropical vegetation. It’s the perfect place for snorkelling among sea turtles, multicoloured coral and tropical fish. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit to make the most of your hour on the beach.
We will then visit a chocolate-making workshop. In small groups, you will first take a self-guided tour to discover the fascinating history of the fruit that gave birth to chocolate: cocoa. You’ll then have the chance to immerse yourself in the world of cocoa and chocolate with a fun tasting session, from the cocoa bean to the most original chocolates. A tasting not to be missed by chocolate lovers and children alike!
We’ll finish our tour by car with a stop at the Cascade-aux-Ecrevisses! This waterfall is located in the Guadeloupe National Park, recognised as a natural biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Your guide will take you to this magnificent waterfall in just a few minutes. He’ll show you around Guadeloupe’s rich and complex ecosystem. You can also take a dip for a few minutes.
After this stop, it’s time to board your minibus for the return journey to the cruise terminal, where you will arrive at around 1:45pm.

What to Wear & Bring
We recommend wearing lightweight, comfortable clothes and comfortable walking shoes. We suggest your swimsuit under clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat and beach towel.

- Basse-Terre Port: from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- This moderately active excursion is suitable only for guests who are in good physical condition.
- Wear your swimming suit and bring your towel and sunscreen from the boat. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring an extra set of clothes (just in case).
- For arrivals on Sunday and Monday, the chocolate shop is closed.
- Itinerary can be modified due to weather conditions or traffic jams.
- Swimming may not be possible in rough seas.This experience requires good weather. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
- The route is winding. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- This shore excursion requires a minimum number of passengers (5 adults). If it is cancelled because the minimum number is not reached, you will be offered another date, another excursion or a full refund.
- Beach break:
- If you sign up for this excursion, you must be able to swim on the beach. The company declines all responsibility!
- The beach is not equipped with beach cabins.
