Your journey from Pointe-à-Pitre or Le Gosier Village takes you through the lush countryside of the island of Basse-Terre to the Longueteau estate, home of Guadeloupe’s famous rum. Enjoy a narrated sightseeing drive as your guide unfolds the history of Guadeloupe in a lively and interactive discussion. Upon arrival at the Longueteau estate, you will be welcomed with sugar cane juice and pieces of sugar cane to snack on.
Step back in time with your guide and discover what Guadeloupe was like 300 years ago on your next tour. You’ll visit a historic plantation still in operation at the Longueteau estate with your guide or one of our in-house guides. Discover the secrets of the rum distillation process on this French island, then enjoy a tasting of authentic rums and liqueurs. You’ll also be able to buy your favourite flavours at very attractive prices (not included).
The tour ends with a visit to the archipelago’s only rum producer specialising in the ageing of rums. The in-house guide will take you on a tour of the ageing cellar and bottling area to show you the long process of ageing distillates, the work of the cellar master and the production of amber, golden and old rums. The tour ends with a guided tasting session with the in-house guide or your guide, during which you can sample the aged rums of your choice.
